Chia Seed Tea

Here's an easy chia seed tea recipe that you can make at home.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/4 cup chia seeds
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tea bags Can be green tea, black tea or hibiscus
  • optional sweetner of choice such as honey or maple syrup Optional. Sweeten to taste

Instructions
 

  • Place the chia seeds in a jar or other container with a tight-fitting lid.

  • Bring the water to a boil and then remove from heat.

  • Add the tea bags to the hot water and let them steep for 3-5 minutes.

  • Remove the tea bags and pour the tea over the chia seeds.
  • Stir the mixture well to combine, and let it sit for at least 15 minutes, or until the chia seeds have absorbed the water and formed a gel-like consistency.
  • Add a sweetener, if desired, and stir to combine.

  • Serve the chia seed tea over ice or refrigerate until chilled, and enjoy!

Notes

You can also add other flavors to your chia seed green tea, such as lemon juice, fresh herbs, or fruit. Experiment with different ingredients to find your favorite combination.
You can use green tea, black tea, hibiscus tea, or any tea you like!
Sweetener is optional, and you can use any kind of sweetener.  Add as much as you need to your liking.
