The Entawak fruit (Artocarpus anisophyllus fruit) is also called the Mentawa fruit or Bintawa fruit.  The Entawak grows in tropical climates such as Indonesia and is found in Malaysia.  It is distantly related to the jack fruit.

Entawak Appearance

Entawak is a yellow or brown round fruit, usually about 3-4 inches.  It has a spiky shell and bulbs of red or bright orange flesh around seeds.

Entawak Fruit Taste

The taste of the inside is sweet in flavor and tastes like a squash or pumpkin.  The Entawak fruit is said have an excellent flavor that is very intense and sweet.   Also, just like a pumpkin, the seeds can be roasted and eaten.
